Looking for something fun to do?

. . . and possibly win an awesome prize? That’s right, folks, it’s DA BWAHA time again, the March Madness tournament of romance novels!  You all might remember DA BWAHA from last year, when–ahem–Something About You won the whole thing.

This works just like the NCAA basketball tournaments: there are 64 books to start, with books being pitted against each other in a “head-to-head” match. People then can vote for the books (and by people, that means anyone!), and the book that gets the most votes advances to the next round.  On we go, until we get down to two books and, ultimately, the champion.

As part of the fun, the authors beg for votes and engage in some pretty hilarious trash-talk.  (You might all recall the video Mr. James put together last year when Something About You made it to the final round.  If you haven’t seen it, you can check that out here.)

A Lot Like Love is one of the finalists this year.  (Hurray!) I believe the first round of voting will take place this Wednesday, March 14th. So if you liked A Lot Like Love, and would like to support the book and help it advance to the next round, stay tuned. I’ll post when the vote goes up.

But remember, anyone can fill out a bracket!  In addition to being tons of fun, there are awesome prizes at stake.  (See the full list of prizes.) Click here to fill out your bracket and join in.

Good luck to everyone who enters, and go Team Love!

The Countdown Begins…with a giveaway!

Please note: giveaway is closed.   Winners will be announced shortly.

So you may have heard that I’ve got a new book, About That Night, coming out on April 3rd.  Whoo-hoo!

About That Night is the third book in what I’m now calling the FBI/U.S. Attorney series. Since we’re only four weeks away from the release of the new book, I thought I’d kick off this month of celebration with a giveaway of five copies of the first book in the series, Something About You, and a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble or Amazon (winner’s choice).

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Something About You, here’s a short description:

FATE HAS THROWN TWO SWORN ENEMIES…

Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends in bloodshed. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago—and nearly ruining his career…

…INTO EACH OTHER’S ARMS

Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away from Chicago. But it’s no joke: the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes—and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension…

Now for the giveaway part: all you have to do to enter is leave a comment or question below. It’s that easy.  One grand prize winner will receive a copy of Something About You and a $25 gift card to Amazon/Barnes & Noble. Four additional winners will receive a copy of Something About You.  Winners will be chosen at random, and will have the option of choosing either a signed paperback or a Kindle/Nook ebook.  Giveaway is open internationally and will run until this Friday, March 9th, at 9pm CST.

One last thing: be sure to check out my new series page, which has lots o’ fun stuff for readers both familiar and unfamiliar with the books, including a series overview, the inspiration behind the series, and some tongue-in-cheek profiles of the heroes. (Trust me, you don’t want to miss that part.)

Good luck to all who enter!

Cool additions to the site

We’ve made some fun changes here at juliejames.com that I think you all are really going to like.  Most notably, I’ve added a page for the FBI/US Attorney series that provides a tongue-in-cheek overview of the series, and talks about the inspiration behind the books. I’ve also created profiles for the three heroes in the series that you don’t want to miss.  (Trust me–it’s worth checking out.)

In addition, I’ve also added an international editions page that includes publisher links, titles, and covers (where available) of the various foreign translations of my books.  If you get a chance, click through the lineup of international covers for each book. There are some fun, great covers in there–and a couple rather, um, interesting ones, too.

Like the changes? Is there something else you’d like to see?  I’d love to hear your feedback!

What people are saying about About That Night

So yesterday started out not so great (8am, dental work, there was a drill involved–enough said), but got much better when I received word of two early reviews of About That Night.  Big hurray!

First, RT BookReviews selected About That Night as a Top Pick! and had this to say:

“James’ latest novel is sweet and spicy.  The author paints a picture of missed opportunity and a reunion filled with fast quips and chemistry that heats up the pages.  Readers will love the back-and-forth between the main characters, but throughout the book the rest of the cast of characters and the story is a fantastic romantic comedy.  This one would be great on the big screen.”

And then Night Owl Reviews made About That Night a Reviewer Top Pick and said:

“I am completely in love with this book. . .  [T]he book was so modern and in today’s world it was easier to relate to the characters.  The book moved from the very first page to the very end of the book.  I honestly have to go out and buy the other books by this author.  I think I have found another favorite author to add to my collection.”

Now that makes up for a little drilling, right?
