Personalized books for the holidays

Several people have asked about this, so I thought I would share for others who might be interested…

Those of you looking to purchase personalized copies of any of my books as holiday gifts can do so through The Book Cellar in Chicago. (And yes, they will ship internationally!)

To order, contact:

The Book Cellar
words@bookcellarinc.com
4736-38 Lincoln Avenue
Chicago, IL 60625
(773)293-2665

Let them know which book(s) you want to order and the name to whom you would like the book(s) personalized. One note: while I’m happy to hop over to the Book Cellar as expeditiously as possible to personalize the books, if ordering for the holidays, please allow sufficient time for shipping. (Particularly for international orders.)

Happy holidays!

Inside my writing process (and some etc.)

I shared this one over on Facebook and Twitter, thought I’d post here as well… My super-high-tech method of keeping track of notes while revising Love Irresistibly.

Also, Francesca over at La Mia Biblioteca Romantica spotted the Italian translation of Practice Makes Perfect, which is now available from Emozioni.

I’m told the caption says: They hardly get along but behind closed doors…it’s quite another thing.

I like it!

Need a quick Thanksgiving dessert?

I’ve started my annual Thanksgiving preparations (Mr. James and I host our families every year), and thought I’d share this easy recipe for Magic Bars that has been a staple in the James family for years.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted1 1/2 cups corn flake crumbs
  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees for glass dish). Coat 13×9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray. (**Julie’s note: I line the pan instead with parchment paper instead for ease)
  2. Combine corn flake crumbs and butter. Press into bottom of prepared pan. Layer evenly with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts, then pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the bars. Press down firmly with a fork.
  3. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars and store covered at room temperature.

Goodreads Choice Awards–Semifinal round (thank you!!)

I woke up this morning to the awesome news that About That Night made it into the 2012 Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Romance–and what is particularly awesome is that the book made it in by write-in vote. Thanks so much to all of you who voted. That’s two years in a row that you Goodreaders have put my book into the semifinal round by write-in vote and, well, that’s the kind of thing that just warms an author’s heart.

So here’s the obligatory link and the part where I say that anyone on Goodreads can vote to advance About That Night to the next round. Voting closes November 17th, and then they cut the nominees in half.

In other news, my editor was very pleased with the revisions I made to Love Irresistibly. (Yay!) Also be on the lookout for some giveaways of my backlist (sponsored by my publisher), that we’ll be running through my Facebook page.  I’ll share more info about that soon.

Thanks again, everyone!
