The Countdown Begins…with a giveaway!

Please note: giveaway is closed.   Winners will be announced shortly.

So you may have heard that I’ve got a new book, About That Night, coming out on April 3rd.  Whoo-hoo!

About That Night is the third book in what I’m now calling the FBI/U.S. Attorney series. Since we’re only four weeks away from the release of the new book, I thought I’d kick off this month of celebration with a giveaway of five copies of the first book in the series, Something About You, and a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble or Amazon (winner’s choice).

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Something About You, here’s a short description:

FATE HAS THROWN TWO SWORN ENEMIES…

Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends in bloodshed. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago—and nearly ruining his career…

…INTO EACH OTHER’S ARMS

Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away from Chicago. But it’s no joke: the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes—and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension…

Now for the giveaway part: all you have to do to enter is leave a comment or question below. It’s that easy.  One grand prize winner will receive a copy of Something About You and a $25 gift card to Amazon/Barnes & Noble. Four additional winners will receive a copy of Something About You.  Winners will be chosen at random, and will have the option of choosing either a signed paperback or a Kindle/Nook ebook.  Giveaway is open internationally and will run until this Friday, March 9th, at 9pm CST.

One last thing: be sure to check out my new series page, which has lots o’ fun stuff for readers both familiar and unfamiliar with the books, including a series overview, the inspiration behind the series, and some tongue-in-cheek profiles of the heroes. (Trust me, you don’t want to miss that part.)

Good luck to all who enter!

Upcoming Chicago area signing

Hi all! For those of you in the Chicago area, here’s some info on a signing I’m doing on Feb 2 with three mystery authors.  I’m one of the featured authors at this year’s Love Is Murder writers’ conference and the signing on Thursday evening is open to everyone.   A few details, per the article link above:

“The Love is Murder Mystery Conference will host a free pre-conference book signing on Thursday evening, Feb. 2, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Intercontinental O’Hare Hotel, the site of this year’s conference.

Open to the public, the signing will give non-registrants their only opportunity to meet and talk with all four NY Times-bestselling Love is Murder featured authors: Donald Bain (with Jessica Fletcher, the Murder, She Wrote series), Julie James ( A Lot Like Love, Something About You)), David Morrell (The Naked Edge, The Shimmer, ) and Hank Phillippi Ryan (Drive Time, The Charlotte McNally series); and featured local author Julie Hyzy (Deadly Interest, the Alex St. James series).

During the signing, drawings will be held every 15 minutes for books and Love is Murder merchandise. Conference registration is NOT required; hotel parking is $5.00 for the event.”

It sounds like it’ll be a great event– I hope to see some of you there!

More information about the Love Is Murder conference can be found at: http://www.loveismurder.net.

P.S. The article incorrectly cited me as a NY Times bestselling author–but maybe with this next book! : )

Borders True Romance (and a Giveaway)

Hey everyone!  So you may have heard–ahem–that Something About You won the Readers Crown Award for Best Long Contemporary.  Whoo-hoo!  As part of that, today I’m over at the Borders True Romance blog, offering up a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration behind the story.  (And if you haven’t heard the story, it’s a good one.)  For extra fun, I’m giving away three copies of the book.  Drop by if you get a chance!

P.S. I also drop a teeny, tiny hint about my next book About That Night.  Like, a blink-and-you-missed-it, micro nugget.  But it’s something. : )

One more thing: if you’re in the Denver area, or plan to attend this year’s RomCon, I’ll be at the convention August 6-7th.  You can find out more about the convention here.

French cover of SOMETHING ABOUT YOU

I just saw the cover for the French translation of Something About You, which released last week, and I liked it so much I thought I’d share:

“Mon Ange Gardien” (“My Guardian Angel”). I think it’s romantic and contemporary and–dare I say– very French?

DABWAHA victory! (And a giveaway)

Well, color me surprised.

Somehow, Something About You managed to win the DABWAHA tournament of romance novels.  Whoo-hoo!  This is all because of you guys, for voting and spreading the word. So a super-huge thanks to you for that!  (By the way, if you haven’t seen the awesome video Mr. James put together yesterday–in the spirit of trash-talking–you need to check that out here.  I see a film career in the works.)

Anyway… I’m in such a good mood about SAY’s DABWAHA win, I feel like celebrating! In the spirit of the competition–and in honor of those awesome books that SAY faced on the road to victory–I’m giving away THREE copies of Nalini Singh’s ARCHANGEL’S KISS and THREE copies of Courtney Milan’s TRIAL BY DESIRE. And, as an aside, I want to mention that both of these authors write fabulous books. So even if you don’t win a copy here, if you haven’t read Nalini and Courtney’s books I encourage you to check them out.

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below.  Giveaway will be open until 10pm CST tonight, and winners will be drawn from everyone who leaves a comment here and at my Facebook fan page.  If you’ve already read one of the books and would only like to enter for the other, please indicate as such in your comment.  Also, winners can choose between either a paper copy of the book or a Kindle copy (for all you dedicated e-readers out there.)

Good luck!  And thanks again to all of you for getting Something About You the win.  Team SAY rocks!
