Summer Reads

Hi everyone!

See?  I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth. I’ve just been busy, working away on About That Night.  So far, I’m very pleased with it.  I hope to share more about the book soon.

Speaking of books… in the spirit of summer, my book club decided that we wanted to read something “fun and light” for our next meeting.  I wanted to thank all of you who gave me great suggestions on Twitter and Facebook!  The book club has voted and this month we’ll be reading Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters.

Has anyone read it?  If so, what did you think?  (No spoilers, please.)

Anyone have other recommendations for light and fun summer reads?  Please feel free to share!

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!

Perfect choice! Amelia Peabody is the most hilarious and spunky Victorian heroine you will ever meet!

I just completed one of the most beautiful debut novels…..The Violets of March by Sarah Jio — highly recommend it.

I haven’t read this one but it sounds promising from the reviews.
Some of my favorite beach reads have been by Elin Hildebrand. I loved Blue Bistro. I am also a big Kristan Higgins fan, her latest, My One and Only was even better than Too Good to be True. Emily Giffin is another one I really like even though I wasn’t a fan of her last book.
I recently got a recommendation from a family member to read Little Bee by Chris Cleave. It looks good but a little deep compared to my normal book of choice.
    Happy Summer Reading everyone!

I recommend anything by Meg Cabot, Kristan Higgins, Jill Shalvis, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Julie, if you like books set in Chicago, definitely check out SEP’s Match Me If You Can.
