Back Cover Copy for Book 3 (and a book signing)

Exciting stuff– Berkley sent me the draft back cover copy for Book 3 (the summary of the book that goes on the back cover) and I really like it!   It’s only a draft, so this could be tweaked a little, but here it is:

FATE HAS THROWN TWO SWORN ENEMIES…

Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends in bloodshed. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago—and nearly ruining his career…

…INTO EACH OTHER’S ARMS

Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away from Chicago. But it’s no joke: the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes—and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension…

So there it is… I hope to have more to share in the upcoming weeks– like the title (we have a potential title, but haven’t finalized it yet) and the front cover art.  Always fun, these stages where the book all starts to come together.

In other developments, I wanted to mention that I’ll be doing a book signing on August 2nd with fellow Chicago author Beth Kery.  I’m really looking forward it!  Here’s the information, so if you’re in the area on August 2nd, drop on by:

Lea, katiebabs, and Keira: thanks! It’s always fun when things start progressing at this point. It does make it seem more real.

kati: Definitely. Who knew what one lousy night of sleep could lead to… 😉

It sounds intriguing. Glad to hear that Jack wasn’t the adulterous politician. LOL I can’t wait to read it. I think you said you’re still writing the book, but do you have an anticipated release date?

  5. Julie says:

Stacy: Wonderful! Glad you’ll be able to make it in August! With Beth and I doing the signing together, it should be a lot of fun.

Kim: LOL– nope no adulterous politician hero. Jack is a good guy, although a little darker than my previous two heroes. Release date is next March.

    Elyssa: I hope so!!

  6. Tabitha says:

I can’t wait for book 3. Could the book perhaps be released in time for Christmas? I know 6months is not much in terms of publishing (I think) but it’s a long time for us readers. Please? It is Christmas and miracles do happen!

This blurb sounds so delicious! And, awww, IL is too far away from me. I’m in PA. 🙁

    Hey Julie
I guess we don’t have to wait so long after all. My withdrawal symptoms are easing off a bit. Sounds as good as the other ones!!

  8. Julie says:

Hi Rowena! Thanks! I’m hoping to be able to show you girls at The Book Binge a cover soon…

Tabitha: Oh, how I would love a Christmas release… but, seeing how I’m still revising the book I think that’s a long-shot… 😉

Mary: Glad to hear your withdrawal is waning! March won’t be too terribly far away, and in the mean time, I’m hoping to have all sorts of fun contests and giveaways announcing the title and cover, etc.
