Upcoming Chicago area signing

Hi all! For those of you in the Chicago area, here’s some info on a signing I’m doing on Feb 2 with three mystery authors.  I’m one of the featured authors at this year’s Love Is Murder writers’ conference and the signing on Thursday evening is open to everyone.   A few details, per the article link above:

“The Love is Murder Mystery Conference will host a free pre-conference book signing on Thursday evening, Feb. 2, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Intercontinental O’Hare Hotel, the site of this year’s conference.

Open to the public, the signing will give non-registrants their only opportunity to meet and talk with all four NY Times-bestselling Love is Murder featured authors: Donald Bain (with Jessica Fletcher, the Murder, She Wrote series), Julie James ( A Lot Like Love, Something About You)), David Morrell (The Naked Edge, The Shimmer, ) and Hank Phillippi Ryan (Drive Time, The Charlotte McNally series); and featured local author Julie Hyzy (Deadly Interest, the Alex St. James series).

During the signing, drawings will be held every 15 minutes for books and Love is Murder merchandise. Conference registration is NOT required; hotel parking is $5.00 for the event.”

It sounds like it’ll be a great event– I hope to see some of you there!

More information about the Love Is Murder conference can be found at: http://www.loveismurder.net.

P.S. The article incorrectly cited me as a NY Times bestselling author–but maybe with this next book! : )

Off to the ALA and RWA conferences!

Indulge in Romance Panel at Evanston Public Library

Thought I would give you all a heads up that this Saturday I’ll be at the “Indulge in Romance” event at the Evanston Public Library.  Myself and fellow local authors Barbara Binns, Maureen Lang, Margot Justes, and Patricia Rosemoor will be discussing why we write romance and what makes this genre so special.  There will be cupcakes, raffle prizes, and the opportunity to purchase new books.  Readers can bring their own gently used romances to swap, and there’s no registration required–anyone can attend.

So if you’re in the Evanston area this Saturday, drop by the library!  The event runs from 2:00 to 3:30 pm in the Community Meeting Room, Main Library. Author discussion will begin at 2 pm with book sales, book swap, and a raffle to follow.

Contact Juliette Swett at jswett@cityofevanston.org or (847) 448-8658 for further details, or visit the library’s website.

Speaking of events, I just updated my calendar page with all my upcoming appearances.  This March I’ll be doing two book signings in Chicago–one with author Beth Kery, and the other one at the wine store that inspired A Lot Like Love (and there will be a complimentary wine tasting!).  After that, I’ll be in Los Angeles, New Orleans and New York for various writers conferences. Plus, starting in late February, I’ll be doing a blog tour for A Lot Like Love–there will be lots of book giveaways involved, so be sure to check that out.

You can find more information about all of my upcoming events, including the blog tour, here.
