Hey everyone! Just a quick post to say that I’m back from the RWA conference in Orlando and had a blast! I have a few photos, and will post those soon, but today is crunch time: my goal is to turn in the revisions for A Lot Like Love by the end of the day. The finish line is in sight…
More to come soon!
So many authors are posting about the fun they had. Was this conference and meeting up with other author/fans just better than usual or was it fun being at WDW? You’re little guy must have been overjoyed to have you back home.
Also, can I ask you a writing question? I think you mentioned that after you submit the revised ms, you’re going to start Book #5. So when you get back A Lot Like Love for the final line edits, do you enjoy going back and getting another chance to polish #4 or are you so into the new story, that it’s a pain to work on #4 yet again?
Hi Kim!
I’d say both– fun to be at WDW (although weird without the Little Guy and my husband), and also great to meet up with other authors, readers, my editor, and other people at Berkley.
Re: your writing question: I don’t mind getting edits, and then final page proofs, for my books. I’m a big-time tinkerer (probably more than Berkley would like me to be), so I like doing revisions–it’s a chance to make the book better, right? And I find that I often have an even better perspective on the book–and can spot little things that need to be changed–when I’ve spent some time away from it.
